For months now, people have been trying to enable aero glass on their non-wddm video card computers, but with no sucess. This was because microsoft decided to disable all the regestery hacks which would enable aero. Fortunatly, I have modified the Basic theme by adding elements from the aero theme. The theme is now in the pre-release stage, so expect some very minor bugs. When it is finished, I will eliminate all of the bugs, move the "X", "[]", and "_" buttons to the top of the window. It will also be transparent, because it is PNG based. I look forward to hearing your imput so I can release the final theme as perfect as possible.
No offense, but it sounds like an awful lot of bullshit since most of the experienced veteran visual style creators are unable to achieve what you claim is a simple registry workaround.
I'm excited, how this project will move forward. Fortunately, I have a good PC and I can run Aero, but this is a good idea for all users who can't run it. It won't look exactly like Aero because of the Aero-specific effects, but it's a good start!
A simple registry hack/work around isn't going to change the ability to impliment Alpha Transparency in PNG's or the standard GUI for Windows XP.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
